‘Savitribai
Phule Sponsorship Programme’ is one of the SSMs earliest support activities
through which, talented but economically poor pupils are provided with text
books, note books and other study material free of cost. The programme was launched right from the
inception of SSM (1959) to encourage the children from the families of farm
laboures, marginal farmers, and other village folk dwelling below poverty line,
to attend school and pave a way for their future.
This
year also 236 such talented students, majority of who are the girls, were given
all the study material sufficient for one Academic Year. A distribution
ceremony was organized for the purpose.
The
Sponsorship Programme is supported by the renowned, well-off businessmen of
Village Sagroli and other well wishers of SSM.
